Ten years after a freak incident at the zoo, college freshman Yuki learns that a bloodthirsty panda has spent the intervening decade hunting her. Their ridiculous grudge explodes into an East-meets-West action comedy full of martial-arts mayhem, supernatural conspiracies, bad advice and worse timing.

In Middle-Neveroth, every hero fits a role: Tank, Damage Dealer or Healer. Every hero except Fenris, a pacifist werewolf dismissed as a Dud. When he is handed a sealed grimoire and told to deliver it to the Mage's Guild, he assembles a party of fellow rejects and bumbles through cursed forests, pirate airships and dungeon lairs—slowly proving they may be exactly the heroes the realm needs.
